EF-8401 Resistance Training for Beginners Women



Description

This course deals with the basic aspects of physical conditioning using weights and machines. It aims to introduce the university student to the practice of weight lifting, an activity that has been carried out for several years for different purposes, and which has currently been implemented as “a healthy lifestyle” and has been widely accepted among men and women of different ages. Through this course, students are expected to improve their physical condition in general, mainly their muscle strength. Due to the individual differences inherent to human beings, individual routines will be worked on based on the tests previously carried out.

General objectives:
 

  • The university student population will stimulate the development of their socio-affective, physical-motor and cognitive channels, through active participation in the lessons of the Sports activity courses.
  • You will acquire the knowledge and skills that allow you to integrate. In your practical life of continuous activity, as part of the maintenance and development of your comprehensive health.

Specific objectives:

 

  • At the end of the course, students will know and apply some basic concepts of sports physiology and biomechanics applied to working with weights.
  • They will know and practice different ways to warm up, as well as different physical conditioning strategies.
  • They will be able to keep their own weekly training control charts.
  • They will know and perform various exercises with and without weights to improve basic strength.
  • They will be able to discriminate those basic flexibility and weight exercises that are contraindicated from those that are not.
