Dear new students of the University of Costa Rica and the School of Physical Education and Sports, welcome to the School of Physical Education and Sports.

For the School of Physical Education and Sports it is a pleasure to receive you, and thank you for choosing an up-to-date major, with high standards of academic quality and above all a major that comes to meet a social demand for sport, exercise and recreation.

Today's society requires innovative and effective ideas so that the different professionals from their respective fields of action can contribute to improve the quality of life of both individuals and social groups that constitute a country.

The School of Physical Education and Sports is aware of this social demand and therefore has implemented innovative and current syllabuses in the different branches and specialties of Pedagogy, Performance and Health.

We have modern sports and recreational facilities so that students can make the most of their learning process. This is complemented by scientific laboratories and a Research Center that produces the highest level of scientific information.

These are procedures and installations in the field of research that are available so that the students of our major can have the experiences that will enable them to be informed professionals capable of transmitting scientific knowledge in their daily professional activities.
